It All Started with an Idea… and the Determination to Make It Real
Great projects start with an idea. Sometimes, that idea emerges in a boardroom. Other times, it happens during a conversation between colleagues.
In my case, Cardenas Enginuity, an American company with an international spirit, was born where many dreams begin: in my mind, as I walked through my hometown, Bogotá.
At the time, it felt like a difficult, distant, even impossible project. But today, it’s a reality.
When I take a moment to reflect on how it became possible, I always come back to the same conclusion—one I’ve shared for years with my students in construction project management:
Successful people have many projects.
Because they are always thinking about how to improve, how to create, how to contribute something new.
Projects come to life through determination and effort.
Ideas alone are not enough. You need commitment to turn them into action.
Discipline and best practices increase the chances of success.
I’m not the only one saying it—so does the Project Management Institute (PMI).
Today, I want to invite you to share that creative, transformative energy within you.
What personal or organizational project are you most proud of?
Tell me in the comments or write to me. I’d love to hear your story.
This is just the beginning.
Thank you for joining me in this new chapter.
